As the one-stop financial services company for the armed forces, USAA had unparalleled equity with its core members. It was, however, experiencing dwindling participation from second generation consumers, specifically youth ages 8–12 and 13–17.
Emboldened by our nationwide research effort, we created two whole-cloth initiatives for educating and engaging the youth market. Developing everything from banking tools, to online sites, promotions, direct mail and more, we provided moms and kids with the tools to ignite responsible, lifelong financial literacy.
